Thank You Note to Shan/Yee's Parents

shan/yee's parents went back few days ago, they flew over to Melbourne to celebrate chinese new year with us which is the most wonderful thing that could happen to us, international students who miss home very much. gotta thank aunty and uncle very much for everything. goodbye to them!

shan/yee's parents and brother reached Melbourne on the day before Chinese New Year. after they had settled down, we went Victoria Market to purchase ingredients for our reunion dinner that night! we were going to have steamboat, which is too awesome. aunty bought alot of things. *thumbs up*

after a few hours of preparations, i didn't help in the cooking since i was sleeping the whole time *hides* well, i do believe in the saying "too many cooks spoil the broth". hehe. we even had the tradition chinese new year dish, Yu Shang flown in all the way from malaysia. we did the lou sang thingy outside because it would be too crowded in our tiny dining/kitchen. it was fun!

after dinner, we decided to go to a playground nearby, we brought all the new year biscuits with us there. we started off with juz pretty normal chatting and laughing and snacking, but then we choreographied poses for picture taking.

it was such a fun night. i'm lucky to hav a bunch of frens to hav fun with during chinese new year. or else i may be soo depressed that i will go crazy

Official Orientation

there were different host with different colored baloons represeting different faculty

today was the official orientation day for all the student who's going to study in the university of melbourne so there were heaps of people... there were heaps of events... there were heaps of free stuffs... there were heaps of booths... there were heaps rubbish... there were heaps of EVERYTHING! the whole campus of melbourne uni was flooded by people. as saying goes "people mountain people sea". hmm.... WHICH MEANS!!!!! THERE WERE HEAPS OF HOTTIES TOO!!!!!!!!!! like DUH, there were hotties everywhere u look.

although my definition of hotties simply means long-ish hair, big big beautiful eyes, thick brows, minimal distance between brows and eyes and nice body... can u ever see one as i've described above in Seremban?

gosh, can't believe i saw a guy in the welcome lecture of comm/arts who look so much like Nick Wheeler from The All-American Rejects! lol

then there's another one who mesmorized me, he's so gayishly beautiful. AWWWW.

anyway, we attended the student Host program when a uni student wil lead the newbies around the campus and u get to meet people who's going to take the same course. my host is a girl originally from China but she's been in aus since she was 5. OMG, SHE LOOKS SO MUCH LIKE HIEW TZE NING AND IT FREAKED ME! my group was alrite, there was a mexican, there was a chinese, there was a thai, there were 2 mixed blood (asian + caucasian) then some aussies... ALL OF THEM SPOKE IN AUSSIE ACCENT since they had been in aus for ages! i was the only one there who spoke in malaysian english with bits of chinese/cantonese accent here and there. argh. i felt so awkward. mayb thats the reason why me and them din "click" much. i believe there r big differences in every way an aussie behave/talk compared to a typical malaysian. asian being here in australia is like indonesians or bangladeshis being in malaysia.

hopefully i can truly get to meet some people who's willing to b frens with me. i ain't that bad, am i? i don't know.

no, i'm not here to wish everyone Happy Chinese New Year and no, i'm not here to boast about how wonderful my life is. my life has been miserable since i'm back in melbourne. i felt so alone, helpless and left out, everything seems so difficult. just that ... i hate being alone... which i so am right now. can't wait for classes to start so i can occupy my mind with assignments and lectures and tutorials.

chinese new year doesn't have much effect on me since i'm so far away from home and uni stuffs stil go on like usual. it just doesn't feel good and no, i'm not alright. however, at least shan and yee's parents came over, made us feel al warmy and homey

today had almost been the worst day of my days in melbourne yet. guess wut happened?

okie, i had an appointment with the student advisor at 4pm today so i went there earlier and blah blah. while i was on my way to the Old Arts Building, MY BLOODY FLIP FLOPS BROKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DAMN DAMN DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
alritey then, after i had confirmed my subjects in arts, i had to walk all the way back to Palmerston BAREFOOTED!!!!!!!!!!!! i thought of maybe chewing gum may work fine in sticking the shoes back together temporarily. i went to the pharmacy in Union House and wasted my $1 for a pack of Extra Chewing Gum. the sales assistant even asked what flavour i want. WHO GIVES A FUCK? grrrrr. i just grabbed one and started chewing the gums. after sometime, it turned out that it wouldn't work. i had no other choice but to start walking home shoeless. i walked for about 20 mins barefooted then, i tried sticking the gum on my shoes again, it worked better this time. the gum stuck the slipper to my foot so it made my walking easier but it stil sucked! walking home from the uni usually takes only 15 mins but this time, it took me 30 mins since i had to watch out for pieces of broken glasses on the road and stroll slowly along the pathway so i won't hurt my foot.

First day of Orientation

today is the first day of orientaion for all international students who are going to study in University of Melbourne.

nah, it wasn't fun at all.

i went to the commerce briefing, saw alot of familiar faces from trinity there. i didn't bother going around to make new friends since i'm too lazy. blah blah blah. we were given lotsa handouts.

then i had to rush over to the arts briefing where i saw MORE trinity students there. eeeek. theres one most memorable one.
Rainbow (yesh, her name is Rainbow) is seriously a phenomenon. she went into the public lecture theatre of the old arts building and sat down beside an okay looking caucasian. I KNEW SHE WOULD DO THAT. after that, they started talking and all. then, the lecturer asked the people who's going to do Arts (media & communications) to leave the room and move to the other. THEY LEFT TOGETHER! WHILE TALKING! grrrrrr.

i heard she has like 89239237837921 boyfriends of different race and different ages. now she wanna hook up with another guy? what's up with all these guys? is she like a hot chic magnet or sumthing? was it her charming smile with braces? or her peircing eyes with serious eyebags problem? or thick sexy pouty lips? or better... her curly shakira-ish black frizzy hair? i just don't understand guys. thats y i gave up on them.

alrite, she get to sit with normal looking guy while who did I get to sit with???? fine, it's a caucasian but it's a jack-black-lookalike but with blonde hair. the same thick-and-alot-of-movements eyebrows, the same huge body figure (he's as fat as jack black in Nacho Lebre), same "swipe curly front hair to the side" action. i tried to stop myself from laughing though. i luv jack black in movies but not a real jack black

however, beside the jack black lookalike, then came in 2 guys from M-ASS (Melbourne Arts Students Society) who are pretty good looking. one is nerdily cute (very tall and skinny, curly hazel hair and a pair of specs) while another one is pretty hot (dark spiky hair and model-ish face and he has abit of Charles's accent, the hot one from What Women Want). they came in to talk bout the society. damn, i would wanna join if there are more hot or hotter guys in there. hahaha. well, i'll see =]

i really wanna say, taking double degree sucks. we hav to check time tables for BOTH degrees, attend lectures for BOTH degrees, make sure everything is right for BOTH degrees ... urgh... everything will b needed to b done online whitout any help from other teachers. there are like zillions things to do. IT'S ONLY THE FIRST DAY AND I'M ALREADY CONFUSED!!!! gosh, more suffering days waiting ahead of me. i'm so gonna die. if i cant manage, i'll drop one degree and make it to the master.

SUMMER IN MELBOURNE IS SO FUCKING HOT!

the minute i walked out of the airport, i can feel wut its like being in a conventional oven. it's so hot that i started feeling all dizzy and there came my nose bleed again. i knew this would happen. luckily it wasn't serious, it stopped after awhile.

anyway, OMG!!!! i had a hard time shifting all my old stuffs from my old place to the new one. oh wait... i mean WE! i hav so many stuffs that jess, shan, yee, ivan and his friends had to help me! i was so touched and i felt so bad and guilty. I OWE U GUYS BIG TIME!!! thank u thank u thank u very very very much. if it wasn't for them, i hav no idea who can i do. sit there and cry?

When I Leave

i left malaysia on the 13 of february. my dad bought a new Toyota Estima just in time to fetch me to airport. i always wanted a mpv so we can send everyone to the airport and it can fit all my humongous luggages. my dadday is awesome.

my flight was at night so i went visiting in the day. it's my last day of driving so have to drive til i puke. i can never get bored of driving. i went to visit my grandpa, cousins and aunties.

jesslyn and ellie stayed in my house to help me with the packing the previous night. i hate it everytime i had to go back to melbourne. i've got so many stuffs to bring yet there's so little luggage limit set by the fucking MAS. firstly, i will fit everything i want into the luggage, then gotta weigh it, it's ALWAYS overweight. so we had to take out "unnecessary"stuffs and weigh again. this went on for the whole day. i was so exhausted lifting my 30+kg to weigh and all. geez.
ellie, li and jesslyn followed us to the airport and say goodbye.
